With eighteen years of rockin' countless bars, biker rallies, and clubs across the Southwest United States under their belt, Shit Happens Inc (S.H.I.) is a fiery heavy rock band dedicated to giving any party they play a kick in the ass of true-to-the-bone rock n' roll. Loaded with energy, they put more power into a forty-five-minute set than most rock bands do in an entire tour. The four 'bad boys of burque' released their first EP, "FIRSTFOUR" on March 17, 2013 and only two months later to the day they released their full-length album, "11 Year Itch" on May 17, 2013.
Vocalist and guitarist, Tim Mercy has a phenomenal set of pipes on him. His voice is powerful and melodic; reminiscent of some of the great vocalists in old-school heavy metal and power metal that you can hear in the style; which he pulls off remarkably. Tim and Louis Torres trade off guitar solos with double leads influenced from NWOBHM to add color and character to the melodies. The riffs that these two axe-men fuel the sound with are influenced by the blues-driven, heavy metal of the 70s and the corrosive, thunderous sounds of 80s thrash metal. Fito Garza rocks the bass guitar with heavy rhythmic lines and a high-energy stage presence. When he was growing up, most music listeners would be drawn the guitar solos but Fito has always been drawn to the low frequencies, rooting down the songs and laying the foundation. Drummer, Rene Ramos plays tight with the band with perfectly synchronous rock grooves. His hard-hitting rhythms are a core asset to the project.
Over the last decade, they have warmed the stage for many touring national acts and have held the spotlight as one of New Mexico's best Rock groups since 2001. Their hard work and years of devotion to the stage was well recognized in 2014 when S.H.I. was nominated for and won Best Metal Song at the New Mexico Music Awards for their track "Black Widow". The boys were drawn back to the NMMA's for their 2017 single, "Fall Away" that was nominated Best Metal Song in 2018. Still as driven as ever, the boys are currently doing mini-tours and working hard on their next release, 'Pull Your Head Out' that they plan to release this Summer. With so many classic and modern influences, the caliber of skill put into this diverse and HEAVY rock n' roll sound, you'll be sure to have your fist pumping and your head banging. -J. Wesley
